About Us
Music that connects. A city that listens. An orchestra that grows. The Subotica Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2014 with a great ambition – to create an orchestra that would celebrate Subotica’s rich classical music tradition while opening new space for artistic ideas, young musicians and future audiences[cite: 13].
On 21 January 2026, the SSO officially became an independent cultural institution. An artistic vision had found its institutional home – and with it came a new responsibility towards the city, its artists and its audiences[cite: 13].
