The Subotica Symphony Orchestra was delighted to introduce its youngest audience to Prokofiev’s celebrated symphonic tale, “Peter and the Wolf”, as part of the 33rd International Festival of Children’s Theatre.

Three performances were presented on the New Stage of the National Theatre Subotica, in Serbian and Hungarian. The auditorium was filled with children’s curiosity, smiles and attentive listening. ❤️

Through the story of Peter and his adventure, the children also discovered the symphony orchestra — because in Prokofiev’s work, each character has a distinct instrument and musical identity:

🎻 Peter — strings
🪈 The bird — flute
🎶 The duck — oboe
🎵 The cat — clarinet
🎼 The grandfather — bassoon
📯 The wolf — horns

The orchestra became a storyteller, and the music brought to life the characters whose adventures the children followed on stage.
